The Red Tree

2013

Blink’s premiere performance; a dance theatre adaptation of the award-winning book by Australian artist Shaun Tan featuring lush movement, stunning visual media and giant puppetry. The Red Tree leads audiences into a sublime physical landscape, giving flight and form to a quiet journey of epic proportions.

This project supported an 8-week series of community art workshops, culminating in a public exhibition in the foyer.

Awarded MOST REFRESHING NEWCOMER by Entertainment Geelong. The company also received nominations for BEST PRODUCTION, BEST DIRECTOR (Lyndel Quick) and MOST INNOVATIVE FEATURE (Melinda Chapman for media design)
